FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST PT SESSION?
You will have a consultation session first prior to the first Mental Fitness Personal Training (MFPT) session so that your trainer can understand your current brain health and fitness levels, and mental fitness goals and lifestyle, so that they can build out a training plan

There is no set rule for what a first session looks like, but it may include:

  • A simple explanation of how the brain works so that you can understand how to use yours better
  • A run through of your mental fitness workout programme to make sure you are comfortable with the exercises
  • Asking you to perform certain mental exercises so that the PT can check your form and understand your baseline level of mental fitness

You will also have the chance to ask questions.

HOW LONG AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE PERSONAL TRAINING IN ORDER TO IMPROVE MY MENTAL FITNESS?
How long and how often you will need to work with a MPFT can vary depending on your mental fitness goals and how committed you are to achieving them, your current brain fitness levels and current lifestyle.
Most clients will see their MFPT once a week for approximately 3-6 months, but this is completely flexible and up to you, and depends on your goals and how your brain is processing information during the sessions. It is also not uncommon for people to stop and start PT sessions depending on the demands of life, and this is also not a problem as you will get better each session. We take it one session at a time. Some examples…
  • If your fitness goal was to cope better with “acute” stress or a “life event” that you’re going through, i.e. a divorce, house or job move, loss of employment, etc, then you may need something like 8-12 PT sessions.
  • If you feel like you are holding on to a lot of emotional stuff from your past and feel dragged down by it and can’t let go of it, depending on your context, you may need something like 8-16 sessions to be able to let go and move on.
  • If you feel like you are drowning in “chronic” stress, i.e. stress that is constant for life and not going to change, like, caring for a loved one, living with a disability, you may need something like 8-20 sessions and then might want to consider having regular top up sessions over a more prolonged period of time.
  • If your goal is to completely turn your life around, maybe you’ve struggled for years with addiction, crime, or unemployment or poor or abusive relationships, you may need to consider a commitment of over 6 months before you start to notice significant changes.
Everybody processes stress in different ways, the speed in which you achieve your goals has a lot to do with how much you want to change and your discipline and commitment to your training plan, which we will support you with.
One thing that is certain is that your brain will be improving with each session, often clients are surprised just how quickly their brains rewire and how powerful their brains can be.
HOW LONG IS A PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION?

The average personal training session lasts between 45-60 minutes.

No, we have deliberately created this brand to be accessible. Think of us like the “Aldi” of brain gyms, we are no frills, we are down to earth, affordable and offer a clear, simple, straightforward service. Our pricing is simple. We offer a free consultation and then each PT session after that is £25.

Being open with your PT will help you get the most out of your personal training sessions. Being honest about your goals, your mental fitness and what effort you are willing to put in. PTs understand that life is tough and we have a strict no judgement policy, whatever has happened in the past, has happened. PTs dont linger in the past, they are here to help you make the changes to your life now and to achieve your goals. PTs understand that making change is hard, they will support you but also hold you accountable
